Anthropic cyber launch not an existential risk to sector, Bernstein says

The investment firm's assessment comes as Anthropic, an AI company founded by former OpenAI researchers, introduced Claude Code Security, a tool designed to identify vulnerabilities in software code. According to Bernstein, while the new product represents competition for established cybersecurity firms, traditional players in the sector maintain significant advantages including existing customer relationships, comprehensive security suites, and deeper domain expertise. The analysts suggested that the market overreacted to the news, causing an unjustified decline in cybersecurity stock valuations that don't reflect the actual competitive landscape or the incremental nature of Anthropic's entry into the market.
