An email allegedly from Ghislaine Maxwell to Jeffrey Epstein, released by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) as part of the Epstein files, appears to confirm the authenticity of a photograph showing Prince Andrew with his accuser, Virginia Giuffre. The email, dated 2015, describes a meeting in London in 2001 where Giuffre met Maxwell's friends, including Prince Andrew, and a photograph was taken. The message, headed 'draft statement,' states that Maxwell was not aware of any improper conduct at her home. The redaction of a name in the statement suggests it refers to Giuffre. Giuffre has accused Prince Andrew of sexual assault, allegations he has consistently denied. The latest batch of documents released by the DoJ includes images and messages referencing Prince Andrew, further highlighting his ties to Epstein. Prince Andrew has faced ongoing scrutiny over his association with the late financier, who was convicted of sex offenses and died in prison in 2019. The former prince recently moved from his residence in Windsor to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, following the announcement in October 2023 that he would relinquish his royal titles.
