The emergency response organization released the statement from its regional headquarters to address a surge in recreational mountain activity that coincided with unstable snowpack conditions and unseasonably high temperatures. Rescuers are pleading with hikers, skiers, and mountaineers to exercise extreme caution as the combination of fresh snowfall and rapid warming has significantly elevated the risk of spontaneous and human-triggered slides. The warning follows a particularly deadly period in the northern mountain ranges, where emergency crews were called to multiple sites to recover victims swept away by masses of snow. According to CNSAS officials, many of these incidents involved experienced outdoors enthusiasts who were caught off guard by the volatility of the current terrain.
