The 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics kicked off on February 6, 2026, in northern Italy, marking the first time the Winter Games are shared between two host cities, Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. Athletes from around the globe showcased their national pride with elaborate opening ceremony outfits, including Team USA in Ralph Lauren-designed uniforms. The Games will run through February 22, featuring 116 medal events, with ski mountaineering making its Olympic debut. The Paralympics will follow from March 6 to March 15. Team USA's opening ceremony uniform includes a winter-white wool coat with wooden toggles, wool trousers, and an American flag intarsia wool sweater, all manufactured in the United States. David Lauren, chief branding and innovation officer of the Ralph Lauren Corporation, expressed the honor of designing the outfits for the tenth consecutive Olympic Games. Meanwhile, Team Canada's uniforms, designed by Lululemon, focus on innovation and inclusion, featuring maple leaf designs and topographic map prints. Other notable outfits include those of Team Mexico, designed by Charly, and Team GB, designed by Ben Sherman in collaboration with Olympic medallist Tom Daley. Team Italy wore outfits by EA7 Emporio Armani, while Team Mongolia showcased ceremonial deels made from Mongolian cashmere, inspired by traditional attire from the Great Mongol Empire.
