Maguire faced allegations of non-serious assault, resisting arrest and attempted bribery. The 32-year-old was convicted on all three counts but will face no prison time. No fine has been imposed. It is understood Maguire’s legal team will appeal to the supreme court against the verdict. Maguire has rejected a number of opportunities to settle the case because he is determined to clear his name. The centre-back was not in court on Wednesday and was preparing as normal for United’s game on Wednesday night at Newcastle.
