The academy has apologized directly to Renkow and pledged to work closely with disability advocacy groups to implement these changes before next year's ceremony. The fiasco has sparked a wider conversation in the entertainment industry about live broadcasting, disability representation, and the tension between polished production and authentic inclusion.
