BattleBots, the popular robot-fighting series, has secured a 20-episode order with filming commencing in April in Las Vegas for a June premiere on YouTube, allowing fans worldwide to simultaneously watch new episodes before international broadcast in 2027. This distribution strategy comes after BattleBots secured a sponsorship deal with Bright Data, a public web data infrastructure company for artificial intelligence and business intelligence. According to BattleBots co-founder Edward Roski, this new approach addresses fans' requests for global simultaneous content release. The weekly premieres will include Bright Data watch parties hosted in tech hubs worldwide, with each episode featuring Bright Data-powered statistics and fan polling. The upcoming BattleBots Pro League season, powered by Bright Data, will feature 24 elite robots from around the world, including former World Champions Tombstone and New Zealand's End Game, as well as newcomers like Orbitron, the world's first AI-controlled robot from Canada. Other fan favorites include Witch Doctor, Hypershock from Florida, Brazilian champion Minotaur, and bots from Australia, India, and the United Kingdom. The competition format differs significantly from previous seasons, with 24 robots battling in Group Stage matches where wins and losses affect league standings. The top teams from each group will advance to a knockout competition, culminating in a final fight for the BattleBots Bright Data Pro League Trophy.
