Timothée Chalamet has released an intense first look photo of Dune 3 — which is officially titled Dune: Part Three . The image shows Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, a close-up of his eyes as he wears a Fremen stillsuit. The character looks rather different than he appeared in the first two films, with wrinkles around his eyes and red scarring. The image comes ahead of the expected release of the film’s trailer later this week, where it’s presumed to appear along with Project Hail Mary . Denis Villeneuve once again returns as director for the Warner Bros. title, which will hit theaters Dec. 18, 2026. The director has said Part Three will be his final Dune film and that he doesn’t see the three films as a trilogy, exactly. “It’s important that people understand that for me, it was really a diptych,” Villeneuve said in an interview with Vanity Fair . “It was really a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book. That’s done and that’s finished. If I do a third one, which is in the writing process, it’s not like a trilogy. It’s strange to say that, but if I go back there, it’s to do something that feels different and has its own identity.” The film also stars Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh and Anya Taylor-Joy, who reprise their roles from the second film.
