Monsters, Inc. , directed by now–Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter, debuted in 2001 and followed Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and John P. “Sully” Sullivan (John Goodman), who work at a power company run by monsters that generate energy by scaring children. The family-friendly film was a huge hit at the box office, grossing $528,773,250 worldwide. According to the WSJ, Toy Story 5 is anticipated to be another blockbuster for the studio. Other beloved Pixar films are also continuing: Incredibles 3 has a release date set for 2028, while a Coco sequel is expected in 2029.
