Netflix To Provide Funding For New Albert R. Broccoli Building At The UK’s National Film And Television School

Netflix has announced a significant funding donation for a new building at the UK's National Film and Television School (NFTS) in Beaconsfield, which will be named after the legendary film producer Albert R. Broccoli during a visit by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and producer Barbara Broccoli to the campus. The new facility, officially named 'The Cubby Broccoli Building' after Albert's nickname, is currently under construction with plans to open its doors to students in January 2027. This collaboration represents Netflix's commitment to supporting film education and preserving the legacy of one of cinema's most influential producers. Albert R. Broccoli was renowned as the producer of the iconic James Bond film series, having brought Ian Fleming's spy character to the big screen and overseeing 19 Bond films during his career. The NFTS, established in 1971, is consistently ranked among the world's top film schools and has produced numerous award-winning filmmakers and industry professionals. Barbara Broccoli, Albert's daughter and current producer of the Bond franchise, attended the announcement ceremony, underscoring the family's continued connection to the institution and their support for film education.
