The 98th edition of the awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien for the second year in a row , is set to air live on ABC and Hulu from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 15, starting at 4 p.m. PT. Sinners leads the 2026 Oscar nominations with a record-breaking 16 noms , including best picture, best director and best original screenplay. One Battle After Another is also a top nominee , with 13, followed by Frankenstein, Marty Supreme and Sentimental Value with nine apiece. All five of those films are up for best picture, along with Bugonia , F1, Hamnet , The Secret Agent and Train Dreams. This year, the Oscars added a new category, the first since best animated feature was introduced in 2002, recognizing best casting . Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent and Sinners landed noms in that category. The Academy also made it harder for members to vote in categories in which they have not watched all of the nominees, tracking viewing via the members-only Academy Screening Room app, and, for films seen elsewhere, like at screenings and film festivals, members had to fill out a form noting when and where they watched a film. Also this year, the Academy has decided to feature live performances of two nominated songs — “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters and “I Lied to You” from Sinners — citing a desire to keep the show moving and end on time. In addition, a star-studded lineup of presenters , including past winners, past nominees and even past hosts, will take the stage Sunday.
