Swedish Oscar Entry ‘Eagles Of The Republic’ Sets U.S. Release Date

EXCLUSIVE : Cohen Media Group has set an April 17 2026 U.S theatrical release for Eagles Of The Republic , Sweden’s Oscar entry which debuted at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film will open in select cinemas including the Quad in New York on April 17 and Landmark in Los Angeles on April 24 before rolling out nationally. The political thriller from filmmaker Tarik Saleh ( Cairo Conspiracy , The Nile Hilton Incident ) stars Fares Fares, Lyna Khoudri, Zineb Triki, Amr Waked, and Cherien Dabis. Fares “plays George Fahmy, Egypt’s most celebrated movie star. Pressured by the country’s highest authorities to star in a government-backed prestige film, Fahmy reluctantly accepts, only to find himself drawn into the inner sanctum of political power.
