📖 Full Retelling

Love Island alum Rob Rausch, a 27-year-old Alabama native who works as a snake wrangler, won season four of the reality competition 'The Traitors' after strategically playing as a Traitor in the castle setting, ultimately securing the $100,000 prize through calculated betrayals of fellow contestants. The competition saw Rausch begin the game alongside Lisa Rinna and Candiace Dillard Bassett as fellow Traitors, with whom he eventually severed ties before recruiting singer Eric Nam to join him as a Traitor. Despite forming a bond with Maura Higgins, the only person he knew before the show, Rausch made the difficult decision to vote against Eric Nam in the final rounds to secure his victory against Higgins. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rausch reflected on his treacherous journey to victory, explaining that when you're a Traitor, 'the only person that can lose the game for you is yourself,' and revealing that he dreaded having to betray his close ally Maura but understood it was necessary to win the game. The snake wrangler from Alabama, who entered the competition with no prior knowledge of most of the contestants, revealed he wouldn't return for another season despite his successful gameplay, stating he couldn't have gotten a better experience and simply wants to return to his normal life in Alabama with family and friends.

Well, his former Traitors, who he voted off, might not agree, but even they’d have their moments of praise. The Love Island alum came into the game knowing virtually no one. But very quickly, the 27-year-old Alabama native, whose non-reality television profession is quite literally snake wrangling, had the entire castle endeared to him. There were many moments throughout the season that contestants would get in their confessional and swear up and down that there’s no way Rausch could be a Traitor. There was no one louder on that subject than fellow Love Islander Maura Higgins , the only person Rausch knew before the show. He eventually recruited singer Eric Nam to join him as a Traitor, the pair making it until the end until Rausch had to vote against him to win against Higgins.
