U.S. Special Envoy Gor’s Travel to the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan

U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor, will visit the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan from February 3 to 7, 2026, as part of diplomatic efforts to strengthen regional partnerships and address key issues in Central Asia. The visit marks a continuation of U.S. engagement with Central Asian nations, focusing on enhancing security cooperation, economic development, and democratic governance in the region. Ambassador Gor is expected to meet with government officials, civil society representatives, and business leaders to discuss areas of mutual interest and potential collaboration. During his five-day trip, the Special Envoy will explore opportunities for expanding trade and investment between the United States and these Central Asian republics, while also reinforcing U.S. commitment to supporting regional stability and addressing shared challenges such as climate change, water resource management, and countering extremism in the strategically important Central Asian corridor.
