The robotaxi service began operations in Punggol on Tuesday, allowing members of the public to book rides on autonomous vehicles operating on fixed routes. The rollout follows months of trials involving over 1,000 users and more than 30,000 km of autonomous driving, WeRide said in a statement. The companies said rides will be free until commercial operations begin later in 2026, as they gather user feedback and refine services.
