Xiaomi launches 17 Ultra smartphone, an AirTag clone, and an ultra slim powerbank

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi unveiled a range of new products including its flagship 17 Ultra smartphone, an AirTag-like tracking device, and an ultra-slim powerbank at its Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, positioning itself as a major competitor in the global tech market with innovative camera technology and accessories. The centerpiece of Xiaomi's presentation is the 17 Ultra smartphone, developed in partnership with renowned camera maker Leica, featuring a sophisticated camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor with F/1.67 aperture, a 1-inch sensor, and a standout 200-megapixel telephoto camera with variable focal length between 75mm-100mm equivalent for optical zoom ranging from 3.2x to 4.3x. The device is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, boasts a 6.9-inch Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display protected by Shield Glass 3.0, and comes equipped with a substantial 6,000 mAh battery (6,800mAh in the Chinese version) supporting 90W USB PD-PPS charging and 50W Hypercharge wireless technology. Xiaomi also introduced a special Leica edition celebrating the camera company's 100th anniversary, featuring a durable aluminum-alloy body with nickel-anodized finish, Leica-themed software filters, and a rotating ring mimicking physical camera zoom controls. To complement the photography-focused smartphone, Xiaomi launched two specialized photography kits—the standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit with Bluetooth-connected shutter buttons and the premium Pro version with leather finish, detachable controls, and an integrated 2,000 mAh battery that enables a new fastshot mode. Beyond smartphones, Xiaomi expanded its product ecosystem with the Electric Scooter 6 Ultra offering 1200W peak power and 75km range, a compact 10-gram Xiaomi tag compatible with both Apple Find My and Google Android Find Hub featuring a year-long battery life, a remarkably slim 6mm-thick 5,000 mAh magnetic power bank capable of 22.5W wired and 15W wireless charging, the Xiaomi Watch 5 with 930mAh battery lasting up to six days and advanced health monitoring capabilities, and the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds with active noise cancellation and 33 hours of battery life.
