Investing.com -- Google has reached an agreement to purchase electricity from the Steel River Energy Center in Arkansas to help offset its fossil fuel emissions, according to the Financial Times. The technology company will acquire all of the solar power project’s initial electricity output when operations begin in 2029. Google will pay a fixed price for the project’s electricity without physically receiving the energy. The Steel River Energy Center will initially provide 1.6 gigawatts of solar power and 2 gigawatt hours of battery storage.
