She was 102.</p><p>Tom Morello announced his mother's death in an Instagram post Sunday: "Mary Morello is forever with the Rebels of Light & Song. (1923-2026)"</p><p>Two weeks ago, in a separate post, he announced he was cutting short his touring schedule in the United Kingdom and Europe because his mother was ill: "Dear friends, fans and comrades, my dear mom, Mary Morello is back in the hospital and I’m headed home to help look after her."</p><p>"My mom led a humble yet powerfully impactful life, always siding with the underdog, always fearlessly speaking out against racism, intolerance, and injustice," Tom Morello told the Sun-Times Tuesday.</p><p>"In the immediate aftermath of her passing, I am just fully realizing the global impact of her life and example.
