<p>A Chicago police officer fired at a vehicle during a large gathering early Sunday in Grant Park, police said.</p><p>Officers responded to a call of a large gathering at about 3:02 a.m. along the 300 block of East Balbo Drive and deployed a tire deflation device, police said.</p><p>The Civilian Office of Police Accountability <a class="Link" href="https://x.com/ChicagoCOPA/status/2076228503196840422" target="_blank" ><u>tweeted</u></a> Sunday morning that investigators were responding to an officer-involved shooting in the 700 block of South Columbus Drive.</p><p>Police said a black sedan in a group of vehicles traveling at a high speed drove around the device toward an officer.</p><p>The officer fired their gun, striking the vehicle. No one inside the vehicle was hit, according to police.</p><p>The officer suffered an ankle injury and was treated and released from the hospital, police said.</p><p>The driver of the vehicle was later taken into custody. No other injuries were reported, according to police.</p><p>The Investigative Response Team is investigating.</p>
