Jacob Lawrence Frey is an American politician and attorney who has served as the 48th mayor of Minneapolis since 2018. He is a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party and has been reelected in 2021 and 2025.
Background & History
Frey was born on July 23, 1981 and raised in Northern Virginia. He attended the College of William & Mary on a track and field scholarship. He served on the Minneapolis City Council from 2014 to 2018. He was elected mayor of Minneapolis in 2017 and has continued to serve since.
