(NYSE American:UUUU, TSX:EFR) announced Monday that Ross Bhappu, currently serving as President, will be appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and join the Board of Directors effective April 15, 2026. The move follows the planned retirement of current CEO Mark Chalmers, who will step down on the same date. The leadership transition comes as the company’s shares have surged 450% over the past year, trading at $20.89 with a market capitalization of $5 billion. According to the company’s statement, Mr. Chalmers will continue to serve as a consultant to Energy Fuels for two years after his retirement, assisting Mr. Bhappu and other company leaders with ongoing and future initiatives. Mr. Chalmers will also resign from the Board of Directors. The company stated that his resignation from the Board is not due to any disagreement with management or company policy. Mr. Bhappu was appointed President of Energy Fuels on August 4, 2025. He brings over 35 years of experience in the mining industry, including nearly 25 years at Resource Capital Funds, where he worked in project evaluation, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and capital sourcing for the mining and minerals sector.
