Peacock announced on Wednesday that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Universal and Blumhouse’s second film starring Josh Hutcherson, based on the indie video game series from Scott Cawthon, is set to begin streaming exclusively on the platform on April 3, after hitting theaters in December. Directed by Emma Tammi, the Freddy’s films center on a haunted family pizza restaurant (think Chuck E. Cheese) where animatronic mascots become deadly at night. Released in October 2023, the first film introduced Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, who takes a night security job at the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza while caring for his younger sister Abby (Piper Rubio). During his overnight shifts, he discovers that the restaurant’s animatronic mascots are possessed by the spirits of murdered children and become deadly after dark, trying to survive the night while delving into an investigation of the restaurant’s past.
