The year opened with three strong American carryovers – “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” “The Housemaid” and “Zootopia 2”– but French titles quickly emerged as the top-grossing releases of 2026 so far. “ Marsupilami ,” a reboot of the beloved comic-book adaptation released by Pathé, is currently topping the box office with 4.8 million admissions.
