The Apple series from creator Abe Sylvia will end after two seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The news comes following the season two finale that released on Jan. 14. The Emmy-nominated comedy boasted an all-star cast of Kristen Wiig , Carol Burnett, Laura Dern , Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy and Kaia Gerber, who rounded out a high-society set of characters in Palm Beach, Florida. The underdog story followed Wiig’s Maxine Dellacorte as she endeavored to cut into Palm Royale ‘s cutthroat world. The season two finale — and now series finale — may have delivered the show’s biggest shock yet when Norma Dellacorte revealed her true identity and made a key confession. Wiig was nominated for both an Actor Award and GLAAD Media Award for season two. The first season received 11 Emmy Award nominations. Palm Royale comes from Apple Studios and Sylvia ( Dead to Me, Nurse Jackie ). Sylvia created the series, which is loosely based on the novel Mr. & Mrs. American Pie by Juliet McDaniel. Sylvia served as showrunner and executive produced with Wiig; Dern and Lemons of Jaywalker Pictures; Katie O’Connell Marsh; Tate Taylor and John Norris for Wyolah Films; and Sharr White, Sheri Holman and Boat Rocker.
