The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. It comprises 13 full–member schools located in five Northeastern states—Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.
Background & History
The MAAC’s membership is dominated by small private institutions, most of which are Catholic or formerly Catholic. Only two schools—Rider University and Quinnipiac University—are secular. The conference currently sponsors 25 sports and maintains 17 associate–member institutions. It operates under the regulations of the NCAA Division I framework.
