Courts and Crime Savannah Guthrie ‘Plans to Return’ to ‘Today’ Amid Ongoing Search for Missing Mom Nancy Guthrie has been missing since Jan. 31 By Jodi Guglielmi Jodi Guglielmi Contact Jodi Guglielmi on X View all posts by Jodi Guglielmi March 5, 2026 Savannah Guthrie is readying her return to Today amid the ongoing search for her missing mother , Nancy Guthrie. The news anchor was seen stopping by the show set on Thursday, for the first time in over a month. A spokesperson for the show confirmed Savannah’s visit and gave insight into her future plans. “Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her Today colleagues,” the spokesperson said in a statement to People , adding that she “plans to return to the show on air.” Savannah has not appeared on the morning news show since her mom was first reported missing on Jan. 31. Nancy, 84, is believed to have been taken from her home against her will, and a search has been underway ever since, with the FBI getting involved and several rewards offered for her safe return. Last month, the FBI released photos of a masked assailant approaching the elderly woman’s front door in the middle of the night. There have been multiple ransom letters reported — demanding a large sum of Bitcoin — since Guthrie went missing, but the Guthrie family has reportedly not been given proof of life. The FBI recently said they received more than 13,000 tips from the public related to the disappearance, which so far has yielded no solid leads. In her last public address, a tear-filled Savannah increased the reward money from $100,000 to $1 million, saying their family was clinging to the smallest shred of hope, but understood that Nancy “may already be gone.” Trending Stories Ann and Nancy Wilson Recall Heart’s 1970s Implosion: ‘Emotional Toll Just Kind of Ate Us’
