Artist and filmmaker Kahlil Joseph's debut feature BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions will be released globally on all digital platforms on March 6, following successful festival screenings, weaving together news clips, archival footage, and music to tell a unique story about Black life and history. Directed by Joseph and shot by Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Bradford Young, the film originated from Joseph's acclaimed video art installation that was showcased at the Venice Biennale in 2019. After premiering at last year's Sundance Film Festival and generating significant buzz at the 2025 Berlinale, the film has already enjoyed extended theatrical runs, screening for over 100 days at the Lumiere Cinema in Los Angeles and 60 days at the IFC Center in New York, with its current residency at 180 Studios in London. Joseph, best known for his intellectually dense installation works and music videos for artists including Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Sampha, has maintained a decade-long collaborative relationship with 180 Studios, from staging his Kendrick Lamar 'm.a.A.d' installation in 2016 to commissioning his film Fly Paper in 2018.

The film was adapted from Joseph’s seminal video art installation, which was shown at the Venice Biennale in 2019. The film was released theatrically by indie distributor Rich Spirit through boutique screenings in select cities. The film is currently part of a theatrical residency at 180 Studios in London. Stateside, BLKNWS screened for over 100 days at the Lumiere Cinema in Los Angeles and 60 days at the IFC Center in New York.
