Dame Sarah Elisabeth Mullally (née Bowser; born 26 March 1962) is an Anglican bishop and former nurse who has served as the 106th archbishop of Canterbury since 28 January 2026. As archbishop, she is the leader of the Church of England and ceremonial head of the Anglican Communion. By virtue of her office she is also a lord spiritual, one of the 26 Church of England bishops who sit in the House of Lords of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
