Rare pagan masterpiece emerges near where St Paul spread teachings of Christianity
Archaeologists in Turkey uncovered an ornate Roman mosaic at the ancient city of Aspendos. The mosaic was found on Theater Street, which connects the city's acropolis to its theater. Aspendos lies about 25 miles east of Antalya and near the biblical city of Perga, where the Apostle Paul preached. Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the discovery in June.
