Hollywood producer behind ‘Joker,’ dozens of other films indicted for $100 million Ponzi scheme

Film producer Jason Cloth, who helped finance movies like Joker and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, was indicted on wire fraud charges. Prosecutors say he ran a $100 million Ponzi scheme that took money from investors telling them it would fund films. He was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday and appeared in court there the same day. The indictment was unsealed in a Chicago federal court.
