Infantino increasingly embattled after senior adviser resigns over World Cup sell-off plans

FIFA president Gianni Infantino is facing more pressure after his senior adviser Carlos Cordeiro quit. Cordeiro resigned because he disagreed with plans to sell a stake in the World Cup. He said the deal would be bad for football and noted FIFA already has large debt‑free reserves. Some European football associations have also threatened to boycott future tournaments.
