DOJ Seeks to Use Secretive Court to Deport Mother of Convicted ISIS Supporter

The Justice Department wants to deport an Afghan woman named Nazira Haji Zada. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas, and her sons were convicted in Oklahoma for helping plan an ISIS‑inspired attack on Election Day 2024. The government will use a special court called the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, which has not held a hearing since it was created in 1996. A first hearing is set for Thursday in Washington, D.C.
