Bipartisan pair of senators urge Rubio to release aid to African women, children at risk of Ebola
Senators Lisa Murkowski and Jeanne Shaheen asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio to release aid for women and children at risk of Ebola in East Africa. They want the State Department to use $608 million approved by Congress for international family‑planning programs. They also want $1.7 million of already bought supplies, such as condoms, birth‑control pills, post‑rape care medicine and drugs to stop heavy bleeding, to be sent. The request was made in a letter sent on Thursday.
