Capital culture war heats up as GOP lawmaker targets DC schools over Old Glory snub

Florida Republican Senator Ashley Moody introduced a bill called the PLEDGE Act. The bill would require Washington, D.C. public school teachers to display the American flag in classrooms. It would also give students a chance to recite the Pledge of Allegiance every day. Moody says some D.C. schools currently do not display the flag or set aside time for the pledge.
