Officer who shot Sonya Massey denied medical release from prison

Sean Grayson, a former sheriff's deputy, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting Sonya Massey in her home in July 2024. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2023, and his lawyer said the cancer has spread to his liver and lungs. On Friday, the Illinois Prisoner Review Board denied his request for early medical release.
