Intercontinental Exchange to buy MarketAxess in $5.7 billion deal
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) announced on Thursday that it will buy MarketAxess Holdings. The purchase price is about 5.7 billion US dollars. MarketAxess runs an electronic platform where investors trade bonds and other fixed‑income securities. Fixed‑income securities are investments like government or company bonds that pay regular interest. ICE says the deal will let it offer more bond‑trading services to its customers.
