Washington's grizzly bear power grab is finally coming to a long-overdue end
The Trump administration announced a new rule that lets Wyoming and nearby states manage grizzly bear numbers. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said the rule ends federal control by officials who have never been on Wyoming land. The Greater Yellowstone grizzly bear population has grown from about 136 bears in 1975 to a larger number today. Officials call this a conservation success and say states can now decide how to protect the bears.
