John Washington says we should stop calling ICE facilities detention centers and start calling them camps. He writes that more than 65,000 people are held in these places for crossing the border without permission. He describes the conditions as demeaning, dangerous, sometimes torturous and even deadly. People are taken from their homes, families and jobs and sent far away.
