Can Chicago learn from other cities' teen takeovers?

Chicago officials are looking at how other U.S. cities handle large gatherings of teens that start on social media. In Baltimore, summer 2023 saw violent teen takeovers downtown and a mass shooting at a community event. Baltimore responded with violence‑interruption teams and other safety measures. Chicago hopes to learn from these examples to keep its own streets safe.
