White Sox looking a lot like Rays, and that's not by accident
The Chicago White Sox are being compared to the Tampa Bay Rays, and the similarity is intentional. Fans remember that Tropicana Field opened in 1990 as the Florida Suncoast Dome, built to attract the Sox who were seeking a new stadium in the late 1980s. In 1988, chairman Jerry Reinsdorf secured financing for New Comiskey Park, keeping the Sox in Chicago.
