He <a class="Link" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2026/08/09/bears-training-camp-luther-burden-groin-injury-nfl-sits-out-wide-receiver-zavion-thomas" target="_blank" >did not practice Sunday.</a> The Bears start their season Sept. 13 at the Panthers.</p><p>Burden has been a trendy pick this offseason, both inside and outside Halas Hall, to emerge as a star. Coach Ben Johnson said in June that “I’m buying Luther Burden stock right now,” while general manager Ryan Poles said in July that “if there’s a guy I’m really excited about, it’s Luther Burden.”</p><p>Burden had 47 catches on 60 targets for 652 yards and two touchdowns last year.
