A Florida boater was sentenced to life in prison for killing his new drinking buddy in a drunken fight that began on his sailboat before spilling out onto the dock and tossing his body into the water. Kamal Padlowski was handed the lifetime sentence on Monday in Hillsborough County Court in Tampa, Fla, for the 2024 Memorial Day Weekend murder of 47-year-old Melvin Jimenez. Jimenez died after he was shoved during their scuffle, which caused him to fall backwards and smack his head on the fiberglass dock before Padlowski dumped him in the water at the Little Harbor Marina in Ruskin, Fla., on May 25, 2024. Padlowski, 52, who was found guilty of premeditated first-degree murder in July, will serve his life sentence without the possibility of parole in the Florida State Prison system.
