Hulu is bringing back “Good American Family” for a second season, with the show taking on an anthology format. The second season will focus on the case of Lorena Bobbitt and her husband John Bobbitt. Series creator and executive producer Katie Robbins will return for Season 2, as will Season 1 star and executive producer Ellen Pompeo, though Pompeo is not expected to star in the second season. The logline for Season 2 describes it as “A limited series inspired by the ripped-from-the-headlines story of Lorena and John Bobbitt, a Virginia couple who incited a media circus that treated trauma as entertainment, launched a thousand dirty jokes, and ignited a gender war.” This will be the latest modern reexamination of the Bobbitts’ case.
