Season 2 of “Toxic,” the Elizabeth Chambers-hosted true crime series that explores poisonous romantic relationships and the trauma they cause, will premiere on Investigation Discovery on Sept. According to ID’s announcement, the series will continue doing what it does best, following “Chambers as she speaks with survivors of toxic relationships, domestic abuse, and intimate partner violence and explores cases from all over the country. Featuring powerful, first-hand accounts from the survivors, as well as their family members and loved ones, ‘Toxic’ offers a holistic look at the many faces of domestic abuse and intimate partner violence, offering a deeper understanding of how toxic love can devolve into something far more dangerous — and sometimes deadly.” The season will kick off with “Don’t Go Home,” the story of the relationship between Jenn Holman and “local bad boy” Jesse Winnick, before the “undeniable chemistry between the two led to a toxic dynamic that escalated into unspeakable violence, leaving devastation and tragedy in its wake.” The episodes premiere on ID at 10 pm ET/PT on Tuesdays, and roll out weekly, also streaming on HBO Max. The rest of the second season will feature cases about “allegations of coercion and abuse of a preacher within the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church network, a woman whose marriage to a man twice her age devolves into unspeakable sexual violation, and the murder of University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love at the hands of her boyfriend on the eve of her college graduation, among other cases.” “Toxic” premiered in April 2025, and Chambers — an investigative journalist, survivor advocate and the ex-wife of Armie Hammer — kicked off the series by saying that she wanted to delve into stories about toxic relationships because of her own experiences.
