Federal government to turn a Kentucky uranium plant into an AI data center and gas power complex

The U.S. Department of Energy plans to convert a former uranium enrichment plant in Kentucky into a site for artificial intelligence data centers and a natural gas power plant. The plant was used during the Cold War to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons. The project will reuse existing buildings and land to meet growing demand for AI computing. Gas turbines will supply electricity to the data centers.
