Water cuts loom as US unveils long-awaited response to Colorado river crisis

The U.S. government released a plan to cut water use from the Colorado River. Arizona, California and Nevada would face reduced water supplies. Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming are not required to cut water for now. Officials say the plan is a temporary step while states work on a long‑term agreement.
