Playing in his fifth minor league game with the Brewers’ Single-A affiliate Wilson Warbirds, Carsten blasted a 1-2 curveball to left field off Royals farmhand Darwin Rodriguez in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 6-3. “It’s all smiles in the Sabathia family suite off to our right,” Warbirds broadcaster Ben Mihailovich said after the homer, per MiLB.com. “CC extending his arms up into the air, super cool moment.” Carsten’s homer was part of a 3-for-4 day at the plate as the Warbirds came back to win 9-6 versus Columbia at Wilson Ballpark in North Carolina.
